( Click here for more on the Saints cheerleaders and their many swimsuit calendars.Meet the newest member of the New Orleans Saints cheerleading squad: 40-year-old, mother of two Kriste Lewis. They've just got too much speed.ĮSQ: But shouldn't Oklahoma State have been in the title game rather than Alabama? They've got more quality wins.ĮSQ: Good point. Who do you like in the national championship game?ĪSH: I'll go with LSU again. Kind of like Drew Brees.ĮSQ: You live in Louisiana and you went to school in Alabama. He seems like a great guy on and off the field. I think they're actually hilarious.ĪSH: You mean not including the Saintsations?ĪSH: The New Orleans Saints, of course. And they're probably a little too cocky.ĮSQ: Who had a better touchdown dance last night, Mark Ingram or Darren Sproles?ĪSH: I love Darren Sproles's touchdown dances. I don't want to say they're undisciplined, but. They're getting frustrated and they're thinking of themselves more than the team. The hell happened?ĪSH: I think they're kind of falling apart. Oprah loved the macaroons.ĮSQ: Okay, back to football. Or there's Sucré, a bakery with a lot of beautiful, delicious desserts. It's a really cool sports bar - pitch-black with a ton of TVs. We've definitely had musicians in there who have been featured on Treme.ĪSH: Cooter Brown's. That's a great jazz club, led by a great trumpeter named Irvin Mayfield.ĪSH: I'm sure. So I guess it's a toss-up.ĮSQ: If someone's visiting New Orleans, where should he go?ĪSH: Well, I waitress at a jazz club on Bourbon Street called Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse. It's more fun and you get to do cooking segments and fashion segments and things like that. I'd also love to work on The View.ĮSQ: Evening-news Katie Couric or Today Show Katie Couric or whatever-she-is-now Katie Couric?ĪSH: Probably Today Show Katie Couric. You can't really have that twang.ĪSH: Katie Couric. I was a communications major and I want to be a broadcast journalist. Having said that, I definitely hope he will and I could see him doing it, yeah.ĮSQ: By the way, you don't sound as Southern as I'd expected.ĪSH: Well, I guess I got rid of the accent. He's not going to get the numbers just for the sake of the numbers. Think he'll get there?ĪSH: I know he doesn't care about that. I bet Lions fans agree with me.ĮSQ: Speaking of those ridiculous numbers, Brees is on pace to break Dan Marino's single-season passing record. And I'm sure there are a lot of people who agree with me.ĪSH: But outside of New Orleans too. Brees for MVP all the way.ĮSQ: So you think Brees should get it over Rodgers?ĪSH: Absolutely. His numbers are ridiculous, and he's a great leader. Rodgers is in a great situation and he's playing really well, but Brees is in a league of his own. We're number one offensively, and we're basically unstoppable when we're at our prime.ĮSQ: If Aaron Rodgers and the Packers aren't 12-0, is Drew Brees the favorite for MVP?ĪSH: I believe so. I don't think Suh would have affected the outcome of the game.ĮSQ: Could anyone have topped the Saints the way they played Sunday night?ĪSH: No one can beat us when we're clicking like that. What do you think the score is if Ndamukong Suh plays for the Lions?ĪSHLEY: Still 31-17. (Final score: 31-17.) On the sidelines in primetime was Ashley, cocktail waitress, aspiring broadcast journalist, and member of the fantastic New Orleans "Saintsations." We spoke to her 'round midnight.ĮSQUIRE: Your Saints won 31-17. īut down in the Superdome, Drew Brees surgically ripped apart the wild, undisciplined, Ndamukong Suh-less Detroit Lions to the tune of 342 passing yards and three touchdowns. On this week's episode of the NFL, the Packers won a, Tim Tebow came back, the Chiefs the Bears, and the Cowboys called a very unfortunate.
